High definition video conferencing – especially a full telepresence solution – requires a significant amount of bandwidth in order to achieve the life-like video quality that characterizes this popular form of business communication. When telepresence was first introduced, it was relatively easy for IT departments to plan for the necessary bandwidth required to run these systems, as they were typically installed in conference rooms that were booked according to a consistent schedule.
