Cisco Debuts Enterprise Content Delivery System

Video distribution across a large corporate infrastructure can be a challenge for many companies considering the implementation of a video delivery solution.  The new Cisco Enterprise Content Delivery System (ECDS) takes aim at these specific challenges and offers IT administrators an important tool for optimizing video distribution across a wide area network (WAN).

One of the biggest issues facing IT personnel in delivering high quality one-way video connections is managing the high amount of bandwidth that is required for a truly seamless experience.  The Cisco ECDS offers a combination hardware and software solution, specifically consisting of two network appliances (the Cisco Media Delivery Engine 1100 and the Cisco Media Delivery Engine 3100) and the Cisco Wide Area Application Services virtual blade software.  The end result is a distribution system suitable for a wide variety of video needs that’s easy to configure, maintain, and monitor.
