Cisco Partners with the NHL to bring Cisco TelePresence to the 2011 Heritage Classic

Cisco Telepresence NHL 251x300 Cisco Partners with the NHL to bring Cisco TelePresence to the 2011 Heritage ClassicCisco TelePresence took another major step forward into the sporting realm this past month through its participation in the Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic in Calgary, Alberta.  The outdoor professional hockey game, which took place at McMahon Stadium in Calgary in front of tens of thousands of fans, offered Cisco a unique opportunity to demonstrate its video conferencing and telepresence technology.

The insatiable demand for tickets to the Heritage Classic played February 19 between the Calgary Flames and the Montreal Canadiens meant that many fans were unable to attend the event in person.  Throw in the fact that Montreal is two time-zones away from Calgary in terms of distance and it is even easier to understand why not many Canadiens supporters were able to make the trip to the game.

Bank of America and Cisco Partner To Provide Telepresence for Financial Sector

The banking and investment planning industries are growing more competitive by the day, and video conferencing has become one of the tools that the companies slugging it out in the financial trenches are using to help lure in fresh customers. In particular, the adoption of video conferencing and telepresence are seen as ways to interest young individuals who are more in touch with technology than the traditional banking customer.

Bank of America, one of the biggest names in retail banking, is currently making use of Cisco TelePresence products in order to facilitate face-to-face meetings between customers and financial advisors. Trial projects in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. will help Bank of America expand its video conferencing efforts and replace some of the brick and mortar branches that it plans on closing throughout the year. The intention is to take advantage of the cost savings and convenience provided by the video conferencing systems. Bank of America already makes extensive use of Cisco TelePresence internally for meetings and training purposes.

Red River, Relief Spark and KBZ Partner for New Orleans School Revitalization Project and TelePresence Distance Learning

New Orleans has seen more than its share of hardship over the past few years, with a number of disasters rocking the city and surrounding region economically, socially and environmentally. KBZ partner Red River elected to hold its 2011 National Sales Meeting in the Louisiana city, in part so that it could direct the energies of its staff in a positive direction and help give back to this community.

Red River, headquartered in Claremont, New Hampshire is an IT business with contracts to sell integrated solutions to the government, focusing on Help Desk, Integrated Services and Collaboration. The company has been repeatedly recognized by a wide number of publications and industry groups for the quality of its services and the strength of its growth.

A Special Telepresence Event: KBZ’s VideoPalooza Returns for 2011

VideoPalooza is a unique telepresence-focused networking event that has been hosted by KBZ Communications at locations across America since 2008. VideoPalooza was created to provide an opportunity for KBZ partners to learn about the present and future states of video communication technology, and to network with other like-minded professionals. HD Video Conferencing – Cisco Launches EX60 TelePresence System in the Gulf

Cisco TelePresence got even more personal this month with the public launch of the Cisco TelePresence EX60 desktop system in the Persian Gulf. The Cisco TelePresence EX60 is designed as a face-to-face HD video conferencing system that is small enough to fit on the average desktop, but large enough to offer an immersive video communications experience.

A 21.5-inch screen offers a resolution of 1920×1080 at 1080p, and it can be combined with an eight-inch touchscreen interface for the ultimate in simplicity and ease of use. One-touch calling puts the EX60 in touch with any other Cisco TelePresence station in the user’s address book, and in addition to the HD conferencing camera built into the device the EX60, it also comes with a document camera feature that makes it easy to share pictures, paperwork or other detail-oriented materials.
